Tech-Ed 2011 on the Road in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Amdavad) was fortunate to had “Tech-Ed 2011 onthe Road” event on 11th Jun 2011. I have attended many Tech-Edevents in Ahmedabad but I am happy and surprised too with the overwhelmingresponse this event gets this time.
Event was held in AMA, Ahmedabad. Hall capacity was approx300 person even organizers had to arrange chairs to accommodate more persons,so even Pinal & Jacob had to takeinitiative to find empty space in the room and arrange the chair there so morepeople can sit there. Hats off to their spirit and feelings towards communitymembers. BTW, even arranging more chairs, many people were standing at the backof the hall without any complain and I am sure, they too were enjoyingsessions.
We had back to back interesting technical sessions.
1st session was taken by Mr. Mahesh Dhola regarding Light Switchwhich was quite interesting due to practical demos.
2nd Session was taken by Pinal and we all knew that hispresentation and technical skills. It was not like just purely TECHNICALSESSION but it was so interactive and been more interesting by his presentationskill. It was like our Gujarati idioms “Gyan sathe Gammat”. I really reallyreally enjoyed it a lot. It was awesome, amazing. He used to give understandingof really really hard topic, like Wait Types, in very easy way which most ofthe people can’t do. Thanks to you Pinal.
After Pinal’ssession, It was Ahmedabad’s true honor to have speaker like star Evangelist ofMicrosoft India, Mr. HarishVaidyanathan. He took session for HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, though I haveleft web development for years but I thoroughly enjoyed his session, EspeciallyCanvas, Video and Audio facility given in HTML5. It was really awesome, If Iwould not have attended this session, I would never know about these featuresthis early as I have no touch with HTML now. Thanks Harish.
After Harish’ssession, There was MOST AWAITED session there, which is LUNCH. J you know what??? “GulabJamun” and “Paneer Butter Masala Sabji”  are my favorite so enjoyed it a lot and wantedto had small nap but one more guest speaker “DhananjayKumar”  won’t let me do it by his goodsession over Microsoft’s “Mango Phone”.
He had small session but was interesting to see multitasking3rd Party application functionality in Mango Phone. After thissession there was no chance to sleep, no SQL guys could ever think to have napin the session of legendary speaker Mr. Jacob Sebastian.
He is the proud of Ahmedabad and real SQL/XML guru. As Pinal has said in the starting ofsession, Jacob really felt us bad by his session, he show us what we were doingwrong so far everyday in our TSQL, he show us worst practices in TSQL code.
After finishing of this SQL session there was one moreinteresting session by one of my friend TejasShah on ASP.NET Tips & Tricks. He comes up with less slides and morepractical example, people were happy to see the few of the very good tips fromhim.
After Tejas’s seesion, wehad many gifts giveaway to the winners who won the quiz during the event andthen we had tea after finishing the event and good chance for networking.
Finally a BIG THANKS to Microsoft to give us this goodopportunity.

Very successful TechED on Road event on 20th Jun 09

I am very happy and proud to be the part of TechED event held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat –India. I was disappointed when I was not able to go to TechED event held in Hydrabad – India but this Ahmedabad event remove my all disappointment.

Event was really overwhelmed by so many tech people not only from Ahmedabad city, not only from Gujarat state but people came over from different cities and states as well. It was really pleasure to meet so many technical people under one roof.

I was eager to meet both the SQL Server MVPs Mr. Pinal Dave ( and Mr. Jacob Sebastian ( ) . Do you know what my bonus was? I met two industry leader Pinal and Jacob along with .NET MVP Kaushal Parikh. Isn’t is great to have three MVPs under one event in Ahmedabad, Gujarat? Yes, it is.

As long as technical session concern, I liked the speech of both the great speaker Pinal and Jacob and the way they have presented their topic with so much fun yet with great information. I have attended Pinal’s seminar in past but I attended Jacob’s speech first time ever in my life and I am really very impressed with his knowledge as a technocrat and very simple and kind hearted person as a human being. As long as Pinal concern, he is one of the great talented person and very co-operative by nature that I have felt so many time.

SQL Server cheet sheet was one of the attractions there along with the Query Flow chart. We can download cheet sheet from pinal’s personal site but I guess there is no soft copy available for Query Flow chart. I would like to request Jacob and Pinal both to please upload soft copy of the same so whoever was not able to come to event, can have that amazing chart with them.

Now, let me tell you something about arrangement, this is also something I can’t stop myself to write about. It was really so impressive, once again Pinal and Jacob ran out of chair due to great response from the people and it has been arranged very quickly.  Official starting time of event was 13:30, I reach there by 13:20 and you know what, I get chair in last row, people came there by 12:00PM to reserve chair, isn’t it HISTORICAL moment in history of Ahmedabad regarding any technical seminar? I guess it is.

Moreover, there were so many gifts given by organizer, I personally got four gifts for answering questions there.

In short, I really want to thanks everybody who has taken initiative to make this event successful and hope to see this kind of events again and again.

I don’t have much photograph so far but have only one right now when Pinal called me with him to give me one of the gifts. Have a look.
